Fair trade na příkladu pěstování a obchodu s kávou v Salvadoru

The aim of this paper is to provide complex mapping and description of fair trade area and to show fair trade principles on an example of coffee cultivation and trade in El Salvador. In its first part the paper provides the overview of actual state of the global coffee market, the description of price creation process, value and supply chain and overview of fair trade area. It is followed by research that focuses on coffee cultivation and trade in El Salvador and analysis of Salvadorian production of fair trade coffee. During the research were used primary and secondary data such as outcomes of the interviews with cooperative’s representatives, data provided by Salvadorian coffee council and data published by organizations UN, WTO and ICO. The research confirmed that fair trade can be a suitable certification with benefit especially for smaller producers that produce mainly non-specialty coffee. However, they too must face the uncertain future connected with risky economic policy of the government, uncertain labor market and increasing input prices.
Bitcoin and the world-systems theory: the case of El Salvador

This bachelor's thesis revolves around the acceptance of Bitcoin as legal tender in El Salvador and the subsequent reactions from the international community, particularly the United States and the International Monetary Fund. Using the case of El Salvador as a study, the thesis seeks to explore a broader phenomenon concerning Latin America and the potential for Bitcoin to be the key for positive socio-economic transformation in the region. The theoretical part of the thesis delves into the concepts of dollarization and the governance of Bitcoin, in addition to the world-systems theory proposed by Immanuel Wallerstein. Subsequently, the thesis applies these theories to concrete facts and conducts an analysis. The timeframe for this research spans from September 2021, when Bitcoin was officially adopted as legal tender in El Salvador, until the end of 2022.

The doctoral thesis Czechoslovakia, Mexico and Central America 1945-1989 analyses political, economic and cultural relations between that country of the called Iron Curtain and the Mesoamerican countries during the Cold War in the twentieth century. The research is based mainly on unpublished archival materials, mainly of Czech origin. It is also complemented by fewer materials obtained at the Central American countries' official archives. The wider context of international politics is primarily outlined in the introductory chapters, which aims, on one hand, to inform readers about the development of the Czechoslovak diplomacy and foreign policy and how it was influenced by the Soviet Union and, on the other hand, to describe the unstable political situation prevailing then in the Central American countries, which were also under the constant scrutiny of the United States of America. Thereafter, the analysis focuses on the Czechoslovak-Mexican relations, which is thematically divided into political, cultural and economic sections. A special chapter is dedicated to the activities of the Czechoslovak secret service in Mexico, as a country conveniently located near to the United States. Bachelor's thesis The US-Soviet Relations in the "Television newscast" of Czechoslovak Television on the Example of El Salvador in 1981 analyses the US-Soviet relations in the main news program of Czechoslovak Television (CST) in 1981, on the example of El Salvador's civil war. The thesis describes the early-80's atmosphere and relations between the two "superpowers" during the Cold War. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the legislative measures which were dependent on the totalitarian regime in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic (CSSR); it introduces the basic terminology of a news service and raises the question of media manipulation. Then the thesis describes secondary the US-Soviet relations from the late 70's until the beginning of the first term of Ronald Reagan as a president, and the change in policy towards to the Soviet Union (SSSR) after the governing of Jimmy Carter in the Office of President. The economic issue of the mainland countries of Central America

The objective of this work is to analyse economic situation of mainland of Central America. The work is divided into three parts. The first part defines the term "mainland of Central America" and characterizes the mainland of Central America in whole taking in view demographics and economic issues. The second part analyses in detail various countries of the region. Brief general characteristics, strengths, weaknesses of individual countries and highlights of the most important current events are made for each country. The third part is a result of analysis of previous sections. It describes issue of foreign companies entering the markets in mainland of Central America.

This thesis familiarizes reader with historic, geographic, economic, culture and commercial differences of the smallest country of Central America -- El Salvador. It might serve as a manual in case of thinking about some investment in this area. At the same time it might offer useful information those who would like to go to see this country and comprehend the Salvadorian mentality. This work starts with the presentation of basic information of the country, its history and political scene. It contiues with the analysis of current economic situation including relations with the Czech Republic, opportunities and risks of Salvadorian market. Next part is dedicated to the culture differences and the Salvadorian minority in the USA. Final part deals with the analysis of the Salvadorian commercial distinctions that should the potential businessman keep in mind in order to avoid misunderstandings.
